I grew up in Northern TEXAS around flat land and tumbleweeds. My family raised cattle and my favorite thing to do when growing up was to go to the pasture to see all the cows. I also loved fixing fences with my Dad. ...And running around in the Thunder Storms. Funny how simple things are so cherished as we age. I moved my family here to the Coachella Valley in the 1980's. My son, Christopher, is now grown and lives in L.A. He is a great inspiration to me and encourages me to continue to paint and create.
I love my last name.. WOOD.. It came from my late husband... Ron Wood passed on in March of 2012... I will never BE the same, Hopefully I can evolve and continue my passion to help people find their way . This journey has just become more Enlightened and Beautiful as I carry on without my best friend.. Ron was my biggest FAN. I could always count on him for Encouragement, LOVE and lots of laughs. I miss him so. It is difficult.. But Painting takes me to a place of solitude and peacefulness. Now more than ever... The Scripture Art that I have been working on in the past year is extraordinarily helping me get through this difficult time.. which IT is meant to do. I have a feeling there might be more of this kind of ART in my future. Thank you RON WOOD for your strength that you passed on to me.
My inspiration often comes when finding a treasure on my desert walks and hikes. An old piece of wood ... it's just the best...Each treasure that I find soon becomes alive with colors and shapes and I'm satisfied. (at least until my next find! ) I hope you can see my heart in my work...and feel peaceful when looking at it.
